Our mission is to remove barriers and streamline the path from the spark of an idea to successful startup. By integrating science, business, and talent, we foster an environment where innovation thrives and entrepreneurship is accessible. We rethink startup support – from the first spark in the lecture hall to Series A funding. Our focus: AI, Health, and Greentech. Our promise: No more silos – we connect all players for a thriving ecosystem.
To reach this UNITE is tapping into the power of 250,000+ students, 30,000+ researchers, 25+ university and research partners, and 15+ early backers from business, investment, and society.
UNITE is part of a strong alliance of top-notch startup factories supported by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. This alliance will benefit Germany by utilising our regions’ strengths and opportunities. Berlin and the capital region are the international lighthouse for talent, startups and investors. Connecting this with the high density of excellence in research and the potential of talent from the existing startup ecosystem will strengthen our region. It is a very strong basis to build upon – together.
The Future of UNITE
Goals of UNITE:
UNITE’s KPIs are designed to directly address the region’s needs and unlock its full innovation potential. By aiming to activate over 50,000 potential entrepreneurial talents and support 3,500 participants in programs each year, UNITE ensures a broad and diverse talent pipeline. The target of supporting 500 teams during their earliest steps and 365 newly founded startups annually – one per day – reflects the ambition to turn Berlin-Brandenburg into a true deeptech hub.
Focusing on 30% female founders and 15% science-based spin-offs, UNITE promotes diversity and leverages the region’s research excellence. With goals like 60% of startups reaching €10 million+ valuation after their first funding round, 3,500 new jobs created per year, and €500 million in capital mobilized annually, the KPIs ensure that UNITE’s goals are in the best interest of startups receiving
the support to grow and scale. These metrics are not just numbers – they provide clear benchmarks for sustainable impact, international competitiveness, and a thriving, inclusive ecosystem that benefits founders, universities, corporates, and the entire region.
